If you strip away the smoke and mirrors and the faulty claims of "racism" put forth by those supporting illegal immigration/amnesty it becomes quite clear. The battle cry of those supporting illegal immigration is easily summed up into several words. "Stop enforcing the law! Stop enforcing the law!" In it's simplest form this is what they are asking the government to do. I don't think many people really grasp the absurdity of this. People in a country illegally trying to tell that country what it should do. Maybe we need to somehow illustrate this to the public.
Example 1 - You have the nicest house on your block. Your neighbors like your house better than theirs. They come in through your front door and tell you that they are going to live with you. They inform you that they will be eating your food and not contributing to any of the bills. You tell them they have to leave. They then go out into the front yard and protest. They hold up signs stating you are a racist.
Example 2 - I illegally enter France with a couple thousand of my friends. Once there I complain about there laws that won't allow me to stay there as long as I want. I wave the American flag around and tell the French they are anti-American. I also go complain to the school system that they don't have classes to teach my children all the subjects in English.
Sounds pretty silly right? It is.
Mexico's President Fox is one of the biggest supporters of illegal immigrants receiving amnesty in the US. He is also very unhappy with the United States plan to complete a wall along the border. He has even called it "shameless". Mexico has communicated to the US that their citizens should have full rights even when entering the nation illegally. Yet Mexico commits many atrocities to people illegally crossing it's southern border from Central and Southern American. Hypocritical? Yes. But illegal immigrants fleeing to the US lightens the burden on Fox's shoulders. He doesn't have to worry as much about strengthening his governments corrupt infrastructure and providing his citizens with a stronger economy. He can rely on citizens going to the US and sending American dollars back home. But there is no benefit for Fox to let Southern and Central Americans into his country. So that makes it different, right?
Of course legal and illegal immigrants want to come to the US. We have a great country! But this country is great because it has principles and laws we abide by. It wasn't out of sheer luck that the United States became a leader in industry, technology and democracy. It's because our fore fathers laid out the laws and guidelines for us to follow. We have implemented them successfully for over two centuries. We cannot let people who have no respect for these laws hijack our country.
